About the collection
The McLean County Museum is a nationally accredited, award-winning museum dedicated to preserving, educating, and collaborating in sharing the diverse stories of the people of McLean County.

Its unique 18,000+ object collection documents all facets of life in McLean County from the prehistoric period to today.

The collection strives to represent individuals from every social, economic, religious, and ethnic background who have ever called McLean County home, for these objects are the tools that tell the stories of our people. Often, they also reflect the broader history of the United States, as the struggles and triumphs of our community are a microcosm of a larger national narrative.
